It's Time for Camp Kindness!

Camp Kindness is an educational camp designed to foster awareness about animals.  During our camp sessions, children learn about proper pet care, pet safety, and pet interaction and how these topics relate to the Sacramento community.  Some examples of camp activities include shelter pet socialization, crafting, animal toy construction, and animal presentations from SSPCA programs and outside rescue organizations. This camp involves a lot of peer collaboration, arts and crafts, and teamwork. A sample schedule is provided below:

9:00      Decorate name tags / Creating Camp Guidelines / Introductions

9:15      Ice Breaker Games – Getting to know you

9:45      Shelter Tour

10:30    Dog Body Language Lesson

11:30    Lunch Break / Games

12:15    Reptile Presentation

1:00      Adopt me posters

1:45      Clean up

2:00      Pick-ups

Camp sessions take place here at the Sacramento SPCA. 

Camp Basics:

• For campers ages 13-15. Camp Kindness curriculum is designed to be developmentally appropriate for a specific age-range, we are unable to accommodate requests to enroll campers who do not meet the age specifications.   
• Camp Fee: $150
• Date & Time: May 6 from 9:00am - 2:00pm
• Transportation services are not available.
• Be sure your camper is dressed appropriately for a day in the shelter and animal interaction.  Closed toed shoes are required.
• Because of our interactions with animals and the environment of the shelter, we are unable to accommodate animal &/or peanut allergies.
• Socialization with animals will be based on the availability of appropriate shelter pets.
• Lunch will not be provided. Campers are encouraged to bring lunch from home. (Refrigerator available for camper use.)
• Camp sessions fill up fast so be sure to register today!!
